Bambra, the creative alias of Jon Bambra, is a Nottingham-based music and multimedia artist forging a distinctive path in industrial and electronic music. For certain projects Jon adopts an anti-music philosophy; he doesn't make music "well," he makes it "unwell," hijacking whatever tempo he feels and constructing trashy, lo-fi experimental sounds from field recordings and found sound.

His broad musical influences, much like his mixed Irish, Pakistani & Swiss ancestry, range: from spooky drone and dark ambient music to trippy downtempo, distorted big beat, techstep, and head-banging tracks. in the bambra context, this is a violent, involuntary physical reaction to frequency saturation and distorted transients—altered beats that serve as a response to the impact of the sound. He also pulls from punk, cyber synth, and the Asian underground. A Bachelor of Arts in Creative Music Technology from Trent University (2016) under his belt, he is equally dedicated to visual arts, taking photos and videos of whatever sparks his imagination.
